Department of Chemistry

Chemistry is an Islamic science is concerned with the study of the nature of matter, its composition and the changes it addresses, and the specialization of chemistry is one of the most important scientific disciplines.

Establishment of the Department:
The Department of Chemistry was established as an independent department in the academic year 1422/1423 AH, and with the development of the college and its transformation into the College of Sciences and Humanities, the department turned from an educational department to an academic department in the academic year 1435/1436 AH.

Vision

National distinction in teatching of Chemistry Science, scientific research and community service.

Mission

Active participation in national development through cadres who are qualified and competition. In addition, strengthening  production of research which is stimulate production of knowledge and contribute to the knowledge economy and community service.

Objectives: 

1 - Provide students with knowledge and skills in the field of chemical sciences to keep pace with scientific progress.

2 - Prepare qualified national competencies to contribute to meet the needs of development plans, education and industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

3. Conduct scientific research that contributes to the service of society

4. Encourage global partnerships by strengthening communication with research institutions inside and outside the  Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

5. Contribute to the dissemination of the scientific culture of the members of society through conferences and scientific seminars

6- Providing consulting services in the field of chemistry to both public and private sectors
