Every October, health campaigns around the world focus on educating people about breast cancer prevention and treatment. This is done by trying to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer by introducing the symptoms and treatment. The aim of these awareness campaigns is to increase the knowledge of individuals about the characteristics of this disease and thus resort to early detection of breast cancer, which is often a reason to save many lives, God willing.
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Sciences and Humanities in Hotat Bani Tamim, Dr. Hessa bint Saud Al Hazzani, the Training and Community Service Unit organized an awareness event at Hotat Bani Tamim General Hospital entitled (Breast Cancer). The campaign was carried out by a group of English language students under the supervision of T. Sahar Al-Khathlan, on Thursday, 2/4/1444 H, corresponding to October 27, 2022 AD. This campaign focused on a set of awareness and guidance distributions, which included:
● Educating the community about the necessity of periodic breast examination.
● Providing preventive measures that avert infection as much as possible.
● The importance of early detection that leads to a high rate of recovery, God willing.
In addition, the students carried out some motivational activities for the visitors, such as distributing some gifts and appropriate ribbons in solidarity with the campaign slogan.
