Under the auspices of the Dean of the College, Dr. Hessa bint Saud Al-Hazani. The Department of Chemistry at the College of Science and Humanities in Hawtat Bani Tamim, held a program entitled "The Kingdom's Contributions to the Production of Renewable Energy". The event was held on Monday, 1/5/2023, at 9:30 AM at the college auditorium. It was under the supervision of the Chemistry Department Supervisor, Dr. Mai Mostafa.
This program aims to introduce students to renewable energy and its role in achieving sustainable development. Students introduced renewable energy, its advantages and types, and the Kingdom's contributions and projects in achieving sustainable development with renewable energy that is safe for the environment. Examples provided included solar energy, wind energy, hydroelectric energy, hydrogen energy and sustainable biofuels. Renewable energy uses in KSA were also addressed, exemplified by the Jubail power plant project and the Red Sea project with reference to the world record achieved by the Kingdom in the world in the generation of wind energy.
At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Mai Mostafa briefly presented the contributions of the KSA to the production of renewable energy. She also urged the students to research and learn about every aspect related to the renewable energy because of its importance in preserving the local economy.
