Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Sciences and Humanities in Hotat Bani Tamim, Dr. Hessa bint Saud Al-Hazani, the Projects Committee of the College’s Female Graduates Unit held a training course entitled “The Ethics of Scientific Research” for female students expected to graduate from the Chemistry Department. The workshop was presented by Dr. Alia Al-Otaibi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Dr. Mai Mustafa, and the female students expected to graduate, on Tuesday 4/3/1445 H, corresponding to September 19, 2023. The event took place in the training hall.
The aim of the course was for the students to become familiar with research ethics and programs that detect plagiarism. The course covered several topics and exercises, including the difference between ethics and manners, defining research ethics and its importance, defining and narrating a summary of the principles of scientific research, defining individual property copyrights, defining plagiarism and its forms and how to avoid them. At the end of the course, the floor was opened for discussion and all the students’ questions were answered.
