The World Health Organization has designated the 20th of October of each year to be World Osteoporosis Day, to remind the public about its danger and intensively spread awareness about it. Accordingly, the Student Advisory Council organized an awareness event entitled (Be Alert to the Silent) on Thursday, 20/10/2022. The event was Supervised by T. Munira Ibrahim Al-Tamimi, and sponsored by the Dean of the College of Sciences and Humanities Dr Hessa bint Saud Al-Hazani. In the event, the students of the council explained the disease, its causes, symptoms, methods of treatment and prevention. They also elaborated on the proper diet to enhance bone strength. Activating such health days inside the college premises plays a major role in reminding the interest in health in the busyness of life and work, as well as raising society's awareness of the prevention of osteoporosis and resulting consequences such as fractures, and the importance of early detection.
