Annually on October 16th, the world celebrates World Food Day, a day declared by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. Correspondingly, the Department of Chemistry held an event entitled (World Food Day) on Thursday 20/10/2022. The event was sponsored by the college dean Dr. Hessa bint Saud Al-Hazani and supervised by Dr. Farha Al Fadel.
World Food Day aims to deepen public awareness of the suffering of starved and undernourished people in the world. It also seeks to encourage people around the world to take measures to combat hunger. The students presented an integrated program that included presentations to introduce World Food Day, in addition to setting up a side event exhibiting some healthy nutrients and explaining its importance and benefits. The program was well received by the audience.
