Vision :

The library seeks to be at the center of the intellectual, cultural, scientific and academic life at the university and seeks to develop and grow knowledge. It also seeks to enrich and raise the level of learning, provide scientific resources in the best possible way in all their forms and types, and facilitate access to them at any time. It is a place that meets the diverse needs of its visitors.

 

Mission:

The library seeks to provide information and scientific and research services of all kinds, enhance teaching, education and scientific research, support the educational process and enrich life by linking students and researchers to knowledge resources. It works on providing access to books, journals and various scientific sources to meet the current and future needs of researchers.

 

Objectives :

  • Providing sources of human knowledge to serve the various scientific disciplines at the college.
  • Developing office systems in line with recent developments in the field of library and information services.
  • Providing information and library services to facilitate search and retrieval ways through the publications it issues, indexes, bibliographies, guides, and others...
  • Exchanging University publications and publications of the Deanship of Library Affairs with colleges and scientific institutions.
  •  Preparing introductory programs for male and female students and faculty members about the services it provides and how to use the available information sources.
  • Providing services to the beneficiaries by responding to inquiries and sending requests as soon as possible.
  • Creating the appropriate atmosphere for study and research inside the library.

 

 

Services Provided by the Library:

Beneficiaries, faculty members, employees and students are provided with the following services:

Lending and return services.

  • Guidance service.
  • Ongoing briefing.
  • Periodical bulletins
  • Search services (electronic search).
  • computer Services.
  • Ongoing briefing service.
  • Electronic library services.
  • Electronic database service.
  • Internet services .
  • Photocopy Services

 

Work Hours :

The library is open Sunday through Thursday from 8 am to 2 pm.

 

 

Classification of Library Books:

The system used to classify library books is the Dewey Decimal Classification. This system is based on dividing human knowledge into ten main sections, and each section is divided into ten sections, which are as follows:

• From 000 to 099 - general knowledge including general information, general business and computer science.

• From 100 to 199 - Philosophy and Psychology.

• From 200 to 299 - Religions.

• From 300 to 399 - Social Sciences.

• From 400 to 499 - Languages.

• From 500 to 599 - Pure Sciences, including Mathematics.

• From 600 to 699 - Applied Sciences.

• From 700 to 799 - Arts.

• From 800 to 899 - Arts.

• From 900 to 999 - Geography, History and Biography

 

 

Library Loan System:

The library loan system ensures that faculty members, students, and administrators benefit from all the library resources according to conditions that have been determined in order to achieve benefits as follows:

  • Establishing loan records for faculty members and students.
  • Students must show their student cards at the time of borrowing from the library. A student is allowed to borrow a maximum of three books for a period of two weeks, subject to renewal if the book is not in great demand and the number of copies is limited.
  • As for faculty members member, they are allowed to borrow five books for a month.
  • When the specified period of loan is exceeded, a delay fine of one riyal for each book must be paid for each day of delay.
  • Only parts, volumes and copies that are not subject to loaning are allowed to be photocopied inside the library.

 

 

 The following regulations and instructions have to be strictly observed developed by beneficiaries:

  • Private bags are not allowed in.
  • Keep quiet.
  • Do not bring food or drinks.
  • Taking care of equipment and books.
  • Do not move book containers from one section to another.

 

Saudi Digital Library:

It is a digital library that aims to provide information resources in various scientific and medical disciplines to serve the employees of Saudi universities, including faculty members and students.
