Dean's Statement

Submitted by a.almutarrid@p… on Thu, 03/04/2021 - 11:07

Praise be to Allah who made knowledge a light that shines the way of those walking, and Peace be upon the Messenger who was sent as a mercy to the worlds, and upon his family and companions.

Since the establishment of this blessed country and its unification by the Founding Father King Abdul Aziz – may God rest his soul in peace – education has occupied a high position, and become one of the first concerns of the State that strongly believes in the role of education in building individuals and societies. Education ensures the building of healthy societies based on sciences and knowledge that enable them to keep pace with future developments and meet the challenges of globalization and the knowledge revolution.

Hence, the interest in higher education has always been on the increase. At the beginning, Saudi Arabia relied on only seven universities, but it now has more than thirty-four universities, all of which seek to build and advance individuals according to the constitution that has been strictly observed by our wise government.

The University of Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz is one of the most distinguished scientific monuments of our country. It covers the needs of a huge number of the sons and daughters of this generous country. It is spread over a wide geographical area, seeking to disseminate knowledge and cultural awareness while preserving the identity of the community.

Since its establishment, the University has been the concern of our blessed rulers. It includes a number of different faculties and colleges in the various fields of science and knowledge meant for meeting the needs of a number of governorates south of Riyadh.

The College of Sciences and Humanities in Hotat Bani Tamim is one of the faculties of the University of Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz. It seeks to provide its students with educational services, and aims to prepare citizens who uphold their faith and cherish its values and principles while enjoying their full rights and scientific achievements.

The College has received a great deal of interest from the University administration, represented by His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hamed, the University Rector, by providing an appropriate scientific environment, attracting faculty members, and encouraging lecturers and teaching assistants by sending them on scholarships abroad.

I ask Allah to protect our country and rulers, and to perpetuate in this country the blessing of security, prosperity and stability under our wise leadership.
