تعاني كافة المجتمعات عبر العالم من العديد من الآفات الخطيرة، ولعّل من أبرزها وأكثرها انتشارًا آفة التدخين، حيث يغزو كل الفئات العمرية والمستويات الثقافية والاقتصادية، ولا يزال يتحدى كل القوانين الصارمة، التي من شأنها حماية الشعوب من أضراره الفتاكة، حيث سجلت الإحصائيات أن التبغ يودي بحياة أكثر من 8 ملايين نسمة سنويًا، ولأهمية ذلك، وتحت رعاية عميدة كلية العلوم والدراسات الإنسانية بحوطة بني تميم د. حصة بنت سعود الهزاني نظمت لجنة مكافحة التدخين بالجامعة بالتعاون مع لجنة العمل المشترك مع المديرية العامة لمكافحة المخدرات في الجوانب التوعوية والتدريبية ركن تثقيفي بعنوان: "مجتمع دون تدخين" تحت إشراف أ. ريم الحضيف وذلك يوم الخميس الموافق ١٤٤٤/٣/٣ هـ الساعة ٩:٣٠ صباحًا بساحة الكلية، وهدف هذا الركن إلى توعية أفراد المجتمع. من طالبات ومنسوبات الجامعة بمعرفة ماهي أضرار التدخين وخطورته من خلال ركن تثقيفي وعرض تقديمي وتوزيعات تُعرف بالتدخين وأضراره وما يسببه من أمراض.
